We started using EDR last year, only really to cut the lawn and tidy up. Small customer job really, so just an hour every two weeks. The gardeners who came regularly were lovely. It all started going wrong when we asked the business owner to help us with other projects. We tried to use them for some minor landscaping but had to step in when the potential costs began spiralling out of control if we had allowed them to continue operating as they were. There were a lot of excuses but simply the owner had not provided the staff doing the job with the equipment they required. They arrived to cut down a number of substantial bushes armed only with hand saws and with no method of removing the wood they created, other than a very small van (which was filled with tools on arrival!). They did empty the van and use this to transport the wood back to their yard, some considerable distance away, and were off site a large amount of time as a result, as they seemed to need to chip it. If we had allowed this to continue, as we were paying a day rate this was going to cost us too much. Our confidence was rocked especially with the way the boss reacted to negative feedback. He didn't charge us on this occasion, which we did consider generous. On a side note, his staff are great but his managing style isn't customer focused. By agreeing to a day rate, we do not think it is unreasonable to expect them to turn up properly equipped to copmplete the job in a timely manner. We continued with using EDR for grass cutting but where as previously we had paid for 1 man to work for an hour cutting our grass, things slipped when the service provided changed to 2 men for half an hour...but they seemingly only brought one lawnmower....? If you use EDR I hope he learns to be less awkward and more customer friendly. It might just be he's not bothered about the little jobs. In response to Daves comments below, we have never acted in a threatening manner, unless offering cups of tea and a convivial chat is considered threatening. On their last visit they attended to rotivate a patch of clay soil, again ill equipped with machinery that was not effective to complete the job. We ended up helping the gardener rotivate a soil patch with our own pick axe when we could see that he was struggling with the equipment he had. This review has been ammended following receipt of a letter that is not dated but arrived on 23/7/2021 which threatened legal action if we did not amend it. Service: Lawn mowing & maintenance

We have been asked to write a review of this company, by the owner and we are very happy to oblige! As a small business, we were unsure whether EDR would travel to our location to undertake a relatively small gardening contract for us, but they managed to fit us in and were genuinely grateful for the business. David and Simon in particular have been our main points of contact and I can say with all honesty, that they go above and beyond. They even supported our little charity event and donated prizes for the raffle. Absolutely fab, would highly recommend! Service: Lawn mowing & maintenance

We have used EDR Landscapes since our company was established. We are a property management company and EDR are our grounds maintenance contractors to a wide variety of sites, including large residential apartment complexes, residential estates and management companies. EDR have always provided a service beyond expectation. Whilst we operate a strict work specification with all of our contracts, EDR regularly go above and beyond the specification, acknowledging that their reputation is established through the quality of their work. They often approach us with cost effective recommendations and monitor the outdoor environment at all of our sites. We cannot be happier with the service that they provide. We have used EDR Landscapes for over 4 years now and have pleased to see them grow as a local, reputable business. Their focus to delivering quality along with customer service is what has stood them apart from their competitors, to us, when dealing with our multi - depot business requirements. We have used previous grounds maintenance providers and constantly had snagging issues and communication problems, especially through the busy summer months. However, with EDR's office support, we have always experienced a prompt response to our emails and service delivery has been on time, every time! We cannot rate them highly enough and I would give them far more stars if it was possible to do so. As a result of their commitment to the services that they deliver, I can honestly say that we have absolutely no intention of dealing with any other grounds maintenance company. We understand and appreciate the need for recent price increases, which have been explained and documented to us clearly. Congratulations David and the whole team on everything that you do! Long may it continue.
