My Mum is a resident in Fern House here. She is well cared for and happy. It is wonderful knowing that she is safe. I am able to chat to Mum via Skype, even though I can't visit her.

My 93 year old (soon to be 94) Dad has been in Brooke House at Birch Court for 7 months now (it took him a few months to settle in as he likes his independence). He has dementia, but mainly forgetfulness of recent events -- with 4 times a day visits, he couldn't maintain hygiene and eating his meals, even wth in-house support! He loves all of the carers, who treat him with respect and dignity, but also respond to his sense of humour appropiately - he is a bit of a charcter! Highly recommended.

My mum is in Waterside with dementia and nursing needs. Shes been there since April. Weve all been very impressed with the high quality of care shes received. The patience and understanding of the staff is so reassuring. They all have a difficult job to do, and they do it exceptionally well.

Well done on your one review well i wouldnt give your care home 1 star if i could without writing a review , my dad died in your home last year as he was in palative care , he wasnt washed or changed propperly whilst there, i kicked off so many times and each time was a hand over misunderstanding , myself and my brother went alternate days , my brother said his room had a strong smell of amonia ,basically pee which i phoned up before my visit the next day, they said they would look into it and sort out as my brother thought my dad had soiled him self but he hadnt , when i went to visit i noticed he was dressed in the same clothes he had on my last visit the day before , i asked dad why havnt u changed he said they threw my clothes in the wardrobe , i went in the wardrobe where the stench of pee was coming from all his clothes from the week before just thrown in there not bagged up , i ran in to the office very upset and complained they said we thought family was washing them , i said are you serious you have been doing his washing since he has been here, i demanded to know as to why his clothes had not been changed ,they said it was a communication error from change over staff, what 3 days no no no i was not having it , i wanted see the notes in the book nothing was documented what a shock , i still feel guilty my dad had to go here please make sure you make the right choice in chosing a carehome for your loved ones no elderly person should be treated in this way especially end of days , some of the careers were great but some unfortunatly should not be allowed to work there
