Adding an update to my old review from 6 years ago! We are still using and recommending Nigel from Pest Doctor to everyone, we had another wasps nest in our new home and once again, Nigel came to the rescue, 24 hours later, not a wasp to be seen, Nigel is professional, friendly and always does a great job, highly recommend! I have used Pest Doctor North West on a couple of occasions now and am extremely impressed, my first call out was a wasps nest and my second task was pesky mice in my shed, I cannot recommend Nigel enough, such a nice guy and explained everything fully, he told me how to prevent the mice from coming back as well which I really appreciated as he didn't need to do this, If you have any kind of pest this is the company you need! Service: Hornet & wasp extermination

Unfortunatelynot a great result for me. In August I had a wasp problemin the attic where, within a couple of minutes of turning on the light, there would be a dozen wasps buzzing round the bulb. I contacted the Pest Doctor as my local council weren'tdoing wasps at the time, presumably due to covid staff shortages, and I was asked to find where they were entering the attic from the outside - I quickly found the entry point high up under the gutter. I booked a call and, on the plus side, someone came out exactly when they said and applied some powder around the area where the waspswerecoming in. I was told initially that it would work straight away but when I checked a week later the wasps were still in abundance in the attic. I was advised that it needed a bit more time to work so I left it for a while, but when I checked again on the outside I found that the wasps had simply found a new entry point a few feet away, but this time ina much moredifficult to get at location behind a chimney stack. I checked the attic again at the end of September and it was still full of wasps so I called the Pest Doctor again and they said they could come out but they may not be able to do anything as they were entering in such a high up difficult location, but in any case it wasn't really worth coming out as it was the very end of the season and all activity would stop within a week or so. I asked a few times could they not just simply go in the attic and kill thenest but was told that that was not how it's done. Fast forward about six weeks to November and the wasp infestation in the attic was as bad as ever. In the end I booked a call with the local council pest control, who were now available, and someone came out, went up into the attic and found the football sized nest straightaway and treated it with wasp nest destroyer. That was three days ago and I've just opened up the attic trap and turned the light on and..... success, no wasps buzzing round the bulb - even after leaving the light on for about 20 minutes. (Plenty of dead ones on the attic floor though) I've given two stars, one because they answer the phone promptly and one for coming out on time..... but ultimately, I paid 60 and they didn't cure the problem.
