Ken turned up with another "bricklayer" on day 1. Other bricklayer was absolutely rotten drunk at 8.15 in the morning. Was told he had had a late night, but smelt and seemed like it was breakfast for him. I asked Ken if he was just a labourer to make mixes but Ken confirmed he would be laying brick. Ken told me he had forgotten his boots so had to wear wellies all day in June, and then eventually after wondering what mess the extention would be in when I arrived home at 5pm after the mornings shambles I found a few block roughly "laid", 2 bags of cement used on god knows what, the site a tip and the keys left on the side as he had walked off site. Wouldn't answer the phone or respond to a text. Seems like I dodged a bullet really!

The self levelled floor that was put down about a year ago is now sinking. It was poured on top of the tiles that were previously laid in the kitchen. The new door frame looks like I have done it myself. Plasterer was a joke, left paper underneath the plaster on the ceiling and lots of it weren't level. All the trades I have had out since thought the state it had been left in was an absolute joke.
