SJD Accountancy

Having being a customer for 12 years at SJD, I can only repeat what Gosia Brzostowska wrote in the previous review. The turnover rate of accountants at SJD since their cyber attack incident at the end of 2020 has accelerated and is now at the point where you can't get anything meaningful done with them. I am on my 4th SJD accountant in 12 months. The service SJD provide has disappeared to the point where SJD are working against you and not for you. I will be more than happy to revise my review if things change. It is a shame but steer well clear for now.

I had terrible experience with SJD. Turn over of accountants is shocking to the point that I'm now semi used to my emails going unanswered for weeks and then I get another of those emails with someone introducing themselves as my new accountant. There's absolutely no continuity between one accountant leaving and another starting. I have now been trying to close my ltd company for almost 2 years and I'm just being bounced between different teams in SJD. For any contractors out there looking for accounting company to do their finances - stay away from SJD. Awful service

Have left after more than 20 years. Has been a downward spiral since Simon Dolan sold the company. Optionis and their hedge fund/VC backers probably paid five times what the business was worth (in the light of IR35 etc.). They tried to integrate a portfolio of accountancy businesses. Recent hacking incident was final nail in the coffin, as some smart a*se management consultant type hosted all businesses on the same platform, without any fire breaks. Now accountants are being spread too thinly, things are not being done and they have to be chased all the time. High staff turnover, the signs of a failing organisation. The only person who is laughing is Simon.

Company appears to have had a security breach. No specific updates as a customer as to what data may or may not have been taken. Personal tax returns, company tax returns ect. Can't get a straight answer out this firm months later.
