Margarets Miniatures Dolls House and Miniatures Shop

Visited this shop with my 80 year old mum. What an amazing dolls house shop. These places are far & few between now. Buying from catalogues is not the same as seeing & handling before you buy. Very warm welcome. Not pressured & lots of time to browse. Lady was very knowledgeable & easily found things when we asked "Do you have." Prices very reasonable. They only take cash but this suited my elderly mum anyway. The little room set ups where inspirational. The range & quality of what they sell is phenomenal. Will definitely be back. Thanks for all your help & advise. Highly recommend a visit.

I visited this dollhouse shop recently and was met by an elderly couple who were extremely rude and hostile to my husband. The woman told my husband that dogs were not allowed in the shop. That was okay; however, there was no sign on the doorour dog is a Chihuahua and was wrapped inside my husband's coat at the time. What was even more ridiculous about this was that we were already 15 minutes inside the shop before anything was said! Before my husband left the shop, he pointed out that there was no sign on the door stating that no dogs were allowed in the shop. The woman responded, "Why should there be?" My husband then left the shop and waited outside for me. In the meantime, I was looking at a dollhouse and asked the woman if the dollhouse was a Wentworth (as it resembled the one I was looking for), but she said she didn't know what it was. I thought it very strange that this womanwho specialises in doll housesdidn't know the style or name of the house! I asked her politely if my husband could come in and discuss the house as I was interested in purchasing it; however, both the man and woman said "No." I simply said, "Oh well, you have just lost yourself a sale of 360.00." The look on the woman's face was priceless. Having perused some of the reviews here, I have noticed that these people do not accept anything other than cash. Companies that only trade in cash always raise red flags for me because they are a gateway to tax evasion. I would urge people to be aware of the following: 1. Unprofessional service: not knowing the make of the dollhouses they sell, 2. unwelcoming and hostile behaviour 3. Arrogance by not putting up appropriate signs regarding dogssomething that is ideally needed should there be people with assistance dogs. 4: Only accepting cash is outdated and questionable. I hope I have given you some insight into our experience. If I had known what these people were like, I most certainly would not have driven the 90-mile round trip. I have no choice but to award this company one star, and that is only because I had to in order to leave this review. Dreadful experience.

Fantastic shop, I love everything about it. Everything you can possibly think of for your dolls house and the owners are extremely helpful and welcoming. I am already planning my next visit and project. Go prepared with cash or dig out your cheque book as they don't accept cards, but this is all part of the charm of the shop. What a wonderful shop!
