The Obelisk is a Grade II Listed Building, located on the triangle of land at the junction between Silver Street, Church Street and Vicarage Street in Warminster - on the site of the former High Cross or Emwell Cross. It comprises a triangular stone tapering shaft on a moulded triangular base, with a small moulded cap crowned with a reeded urn and pineapple. At one time there was also a drinking fountain with a lion's mask spout on the east corner. According to a plaque fixed to the side of the building, the Obelisk was constructed in 1783 using surplus funds from the enclosure of the common lands of Warminster.
