Rooms: Clean, small and cold due to them switching the radiators off until the rooms are occupied. On a main road with no double glazing. Food & drinks: Found the food in the restaurant average but expensive with portions on the small side. Breakfast was low quality ingredients at 14 Pint of lager and a Peroni 11.80 which I think is dear even in this area. Noteworthy details: Having ppsted my review I had one nights BB in Essex for 100 which despite some negative feedback I would still consider decent value for money.I have paid more for poorer establishments.

Had Afternoon Tea Only ones in Restaurant which was a shame A once lovely hotel is in need of love and TLC. Have just found out it has been sold and will be flats! Hope they keep the buildings and just change the inside. Tea was average, but for 18 p/h would not expect more, staff were friendly and helpful, felt quite sorry for them really.

I have stayed overnight here, room we had was a little small, facilities were ok, but the grounds are lovely. We live local to the hotel so we drive past all the time. I would recommend this place, but just check you are happy with your room first, once you are in they may not be able to move you. The second time I used it, it was for my husband, he had a last minute business meeting with four others to join him, 2 were non drinkers so they couldn't go to a pub or bar, and he did not want to invite them to our home as didn't know them that well, they were looking for somewhere comfortable to have the meeting, and something light to eat, I rang around and not sure what made me ring Rougemont, but they were so helpful, they said they would allow them to use the facilities without staying there, I think a couple of them had an afternoon tea, even though you usually have to pre book this, others ordered light lunches, they had a lovely view out from the restaurant, had a good meeting, staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for you. I heard later one of the attendees liked the place so much he booked a room and had overnight stay there with his girlfriend. I would definitely go there again.
