Rivermead Holiday Cottages

We have been to Rivermead many times now and love it just as much every time! This time we stayed in Owl lodge. The lodge itself was amazing, beautifully clean, with all the lovely little touches. The welcome hamper is delicious too! The site is idyllic, from exploring the riverside, to looking for all the wildlife. I really cant recommend Rivermead highly enough, and the Kate and Gary also make the stay very special. Thank you!

Rooms: Well equipped with bedding, towels, hair dryer etc - spacious and very comfortable. Walkability: Beautiful walks around the river, lake and woodlands. Noteworthy details: Self- cating with so many facilities available- WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, bbq, board games etc

After visiting Rivermead Cottages I have gone from a non-holiday taker to booking two already for next year. The cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated and had everything we could possibly need, and the bed was so comfortable I had the best sleep ever. The welcome basket of local Cornish fare was a lovely surprise. The cottage is in beautifully kept grounds surrounded by natural woodland walks along the river Fowey with well placed seats and tables, which were perfect for relaxing with a book and having a picnic with family. I particularly liked the ones by the lake and spent time watching the Kingfishers and Buzzards. The evening had more surprises, the area should be designated a dark skies area, the number of stars visible was truly awe inspiring. If you are looking for easy access to the coast, bustling fishing villages, stately homes and gardens Rivermead is the perfect base. Kate and Gary the owners are very friendly and approachable and are only too willing to point you in the direction of superb restaurant and other places of interest. Thankyou for sharing your beautiful cottages, I had the most magical and relaxing holiday and cant wait to return next year.

Early October 2022 visit Our stay at Rivermead was perfect in every way. The accommodation (we stayed in Otter Lodge) was spotless with everything we needed. A super welcome pack awaited us as well as a warm and friendly welcome from Kate and Gary. The grounds are beautifully kept and there was plenty of wildlife to listen to and search for along the river. We saw kingfishers as well as numerous deer along the banks of the river. (we went to sleep one night fortunate enough to hear a stag deer roaring) Further afield, both the north and south coast are very accessible. We managed trips to some delightful coves, villages and cliff walks. The choice is endless! And if you are travelling with children I discovered an abundance and a variety of appropriate activities as well as endless enticing beaches. Thankyou Kate and Gary for such a super week.
