Lovely country bar attached to the hotel next door. Food was a touch on the pricey side but you got plenty for it and the quality was good too. I got roast lamb dinner. I saw another patron getting fish and chips and the fish was humongous! Around five local cask ales on. Didn't stock top notch craft beers but probably not the market here for it, the cask was well kept and good enough to satisfy most. Lots of wood and bare stone, good feel to the place. They also have sky sports in numerous TVs which somehow don't spoil the ambience.

Stopped here for a nice lunch after visiting Warkworth Castle and walking to St. Cuthberts cross and back. Nice beer, friendly staff and a sharing ploughmans lunch! Oh and warm enough to sit out the front and admire the view.

We didn't have the warmest of welcomes on our first visit but the food was very good.
