Leacon Hall Lodge Extremely comfortable and very well equipped self catering accommodation in a bright and airy converted coach house near Ashford, Kent. There are windows and doors on each side of the house. The front looks out on a rose garden with the oast in the distance and the back looks out on a wonderful duck pond full of moor hens and other wild life. The manor house itself is to the side of the accommodation and the gardens on all sides are well planted. Rabbits hop along all over the place! The two double bedrooms are quite small and cosy; one is en suite with a bath and separate shower with both a fixed head and hand head, the other bedroom has a shower room and toilet next to it. We were two people and had plenty of space. We loved the white linen, goose down duvets and mattress toppers. The bedrooms even had TVs though we didn't try them out. The underfloor heating is on constantly so I doubt that you will ever feel chilly. The house is extremely well insulated with double glazed windows and doors. There is a wood burner in the sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped with an American size fridge and freezer, an up-market microwave and an aga, the latter which was unfortunately broken at the time of our visit so instead we grappled with the microwave and we also had the use of a small electric oven which the owner had installed on the counter top Wifi is a pay facility via bt openzone which allows you to purchase a 5 day option. The signal was strong but the service isn't very fast (I had the same challenge with openzone in London earlier this year so it seems like its the provider). There is a large flat screen TV with sky. Fortunately the manuals to all the gadgets were in a folder as we certainly had to resort to the book of words to operate the TV and also the fancy microwave!! There is also a Miele washer/drier. We chose this accommodation because it had 2 bedrooms, had wifi, was in a good location and was very comfortable. It surpassed all these expectations. There is plenty to see in the area even in winter - Rye, Tenterden, Cranbrook, Canterbury, Chatham Dockyard to name a few of the places which we visited.
