        Super friendly local pub, with a warming fire for walkers and locals to huddle round. Good pub grub and puddings that'll make you regret skipping the gym, and regularly changing local ales. Very dog friendly and well placed for nearby Appleby, Rutter Falls and some great Eden Valley walks. Oh yeah, and it's my local too!

        I would not recommend the food. Ploughmans was expensive, tiny and poor quality, served with supermarket bread and butter that had mould in the foil wrapping. Cider was nice and the pubs dog was friendly

        Excellent place for a couple of pints at dinnertime on a bank holiday weekend. Not too busy - landlord very friendly.
