I worked for Cosmic People for almost two years, initially as a specialist notetaker, then also as a proof-reader and transcriptionist. I supported many different students with different needs during my employment - every job is unique, varied, and incredibly interesting. As well as learning a host of new writing, technical, language, and listening skills, I have acquired new knowledge in a range of academic fields that I would never have been able to access otherwise. With this job, youre always learning something new, interesting, and different! It has also been a rewarding experience to be able to directly provide the support that students with disabilities need to be able to access all of their learning. I loved the fact that I wasnt a small cog in a big machine I was in direct contact with my students, and the work I was doing was making a real positive difference and benefitting them straightaway. Ive learnt a lot about disability and have become more aware of and sensitive to the daily challenges that people with disabilities face in all parts of their lives. This has been the most important piece of learning for me from my time with Cosmic, for which I am grateful. The Cosmic office team have always made themselves available to chat, answer questions, and sort out any problems, and were always super supportive as well as transparent and honest. I was shown particular kindness during the last tricky twelve months of remote working during the pandemic. Take care guys!

I feel the service that Cosmic People provide for student support goes above and beyond any other Agency/Student support service I have ever worked for in the past ten years. The ethos that you have developed to ensure every student has their individual needs met, as well as ensuring that Mentors and Study skills tutors feel they are well supported is commendable.

I have been working with Cosmic People for many years - over 7 years now! I started as a temporary Note Taker and 1-2-1 Study Support Tutor, and since then I have made a full time career out of it. The team at Cosmic People are friendly and caring, you're not just another number on their payroll. There is a real opportunity to do well, if you are committed and dedicated to work as an independent Academic Support Tutor and as part of a small team. The administrative staff are efficient and well mannered and have supported me through all possible opportunities of work. I am also now in the process of becoming a Specialist Mentor, supporting students with Autism; enhancing my career portfolio further. I would highly recommend a career with Cosmic People, as the possibilities of furthering your academic support career is highlighted. Ive worked with and have been signed up to several other comparable companies, none of which meet the consistency and reliability of work that Cosmic supply. The team at Cosmic People really take their time to ensure they support their staff to become better Support workers and Mentors. I love my job and I see myself as very fortunate that I made contact with Cosmic.

I have been working for Cosmic in the role of Specialist Mentor since October 2018 and I can honestly say it has been such a rewarding and positive experience to work for such a professional company. Right from the start, the whole team were so friendly and supportive and went out of their way to welcome me and make me feel like a trusted and valued member of the family. In fact, nothing has been too much trouble for them. The whole team including the Head of Cosmic, my Account Manager and Payroll have been so helpful and efficient and have always answered any queries I may have had extremely promptly and I have been paid on time every week without any issues whatsoever. I work in private practice and so I required flexible hours to fit in with these commitments and that has certainly been the case from day one. I started off with a few students, but my portfolio rapidly expanded and I have received a consistent referral of students, whom I have been seeing at a variety of locations, ever since. I find the role so fulfilling and rewarding and it is a pleasure to work alongside the students and see them progress throughout their journey. I have also been offered the opportunity of working as a Specialist Mentor with Autistic Students, which I very much welcome, as it will enhance and enrich my experience. It means a lot to me personally to work for Cosmic as their values of wanting the best for the students mirror those of my own. I have already made the decision to continue working with Cosmic which I hope continues for many more years to come. I would recommend this company to anyone, as they are an absolute pleasure to work for.
