I have been at Cornerstone The Church since January 2003. Unsurprisingly, there have been some major changes in that time. But not least, is that in 2014 the Church moved from The Gold Cup Suite in Sandown Race Course, Esher, which it had been renting every Sunday for some 20 years, to its own, rent free premises, in Walton On Thames. This is unusual in itself, as many churches that have started from what could be loosely described as The House Group Movement, or in the case of Cornerstone and one or two other churches, starting in a room at the back of a pub, regardless of how they have then grown, have access to their own property on a 24 hourly basis. This new site puts the church at the heart of the local community and being situated directly opposite the main Walton railway station and lit up at night means that thousands of people every day on their train journeys are at least aware of the church's presence. But thing that has not altered is the Church's love for the Lord and in consequence all people. As the world has changed irrevocably in the last 18 months, it worth noting how Cornerstone's ministry and care for people and its congregation carried on in that time. Weekly Sunday morning services continued in a pre-recorded form that were available on youtube. The Praise and Worship team also recorded their individual music and vocal parts at home that there were mixed so that there was an uplifting song each week. Monday to Friday there were hour long lunchtime opportunities for Biblical teaching and general times of encouragement. Cornerstone also launched its own Radio Station CTC Radio and there was also a 24 hour emergency hotline. The church administrative staff were also available during regular office hours. With life approaching a greater sense of normality, various groups like the youth group are back to their regular Friday evening meetings. My own three children went through the Church's youth group and there as a great sense of them being mentored and looked after by a young adult group that they could respect and who lived their lives by example. This is a church that believes in the core values of the family and it seeks to encourage every member individually, regardless of their age. Without giving my own life history at the Church, hopefully the fact that I have been there for nearly 19 years is a testimony to the love and strength of the leadership, its Biblical principles and its greater sense of community and fellowship.

An amazing Church, from the moment you walk in you'll never meet a more friendly congregation and welcoming place, as Pastor Chris says "they serve the best coffee in London". The Worship and Sermons will fill you to over flowing. No better place to be than Cornerstone on a Sunday.
