I am very grateful for the support and respect shown to me, all my life I thought it was me but now I know it is different.

NHS Talking therapies can help with common mental health problems like stress, anxiety, and depression. Which therapy you are offered depends on which one has been shown to be most helpful for your symptoms. They offer 1:1 or groups, face-to-face or virtually (by telephone or video) or as an online course. Some examples of treatment: Guided Self-Help: where a therapist coaches you as you work through a self-help course in your own time, either using a workbook or an online course. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, what we do, and how our bodies feel physically, are all connected. Counselling for depression: a type of counselling developed for people with depression.

Terrible service which completely put me off from trying to get the help I desperately need. First I went in to ask about what therapies they offer and the woman at front desk said she didn't know. Then I called back a week later to ask for details and the man's headset kept cutting out so I couldn't hear him. I said I would call straight back and he didn't answer the phone. There is also no information about privacy and confidentiality on their website. Absolutely disgraceful, to be honest.

This 'service' creates more trauma than it solves. The facility should be closed down before it damages yet more people, unfortunately, I'm sure that any review posted here will be seen by Sutton Uplift as being more akin to the reviewers lack of "insight" of their own condition rather than a problem with the services they provide and there in lies the rub... There is a whole catalogue of shortcomings, everything from clueless reception staff and disorganised administration, to the clinical 'professionals' clearly exhibiting all that is bad with the NHS. My 'curated' journey was nothing but a sham, from the disorganised initial consultation to missed appointments on their part to a perfunctory follow-up and ultimate and somewhat premature closure of the case file based on a me not being available to receive an unscheduled call - with attendant message - only to be followed up ten minutes later with another message advising that as I was "unavailable" it was (presumed) that I no longer needed the service and the file would be closed. I think I got off lightly and escaped before they could do any real damage but equally I'm so glad that I have records of the conversations, they will be evidentiary in any proceedings I may wish to file...

This is a useless service. The first counsellor I got was woefully under qualified so I asked for a referral. The second counsellor continually cancelled appointments, changed the date and time and length of sessions at their will and seemingly on a whim. It took several months to complete 8 sessions wherein the counsellor decided what we talked about and then informed me in the penultimate session that we wouldn't have time to talk about the issues that were actually causing me distress. Then they disappeared off the face of the planet, literally ghosting me. There is no oversight or anyone to complain to. The best thing to come out of this experience was I got a good book recommendation which helped me more than the therapy. It's such a shame such a good idea intended to bring health and help to many, caused me more mental distress.
