TOWN & GARDEN

Town and Garden have turned a neglected and sad corner of the garden into a lovely kitchen garden. They levelled the uneven ground, laid new turf and made some excellent timber raised beds, filled with earth and compost, all ready to start a productive new season. They are great to work with, cheerful and hard working. Rob is knowledgeable about plants and design and has good ideas about further developing the garden.

Rob was involved in the complete redesign of the front and back outside areas of the house from the initial vision stage right up to quite extensive aftercare and was brilliant throughout. His design for a bespoke, modernist, black pergola on a grey raised patio is just stunning, transforming the feel of the garden and enhancing the look of the house. It is a glamorous, functional piece of sculpture that you live in like an immense room for most of the summer months. Just wonderful. He also redesigned the back garden into a series of rooms and this has just completely changed how we use the garden. The addition of a pond has brought wildlife into the garden. The raised-bed area is just a delight to have breakfast in, even the front drive has been admired by many. Rob was full of amazing ideas, yet also listened really carefully to what we wanted, was attentive to our budget, found subcontractors to do the work, and even project managed the whole thing from start to finish. We made sure the garden worked at all times of the day, spent time making sure the patio married well with the interior it extends from, worked out planting schemes, produced wonderful drawings of the whole plan and was just exceptionally thoughtful yet also original and full of vision. The result is a garden so lovely that when the weather is good, it is hard to spend time anywhere else. And a pergola room so glamorous, it is hard to get guests to leave of an evening, which is just perfect and how it should be.
