We highly recommend Matthew T Young Architects. After a number of false starts with other architects, we engaged MTYA to design a substantial two-storey extension that would be in keeping with our Arts and Crafts property and to create a new barn style garage building. Matthew and project architect Peter McWilliam developed a design that we found visually exciting as well as sympathetic to the period of the property and its landscape and which took full advantage of the attributes of the existing house. They guided us through the planning process and tendering for a builder seamlessly and added value throughout all stages of construction. The works were substantial yet, through meticulous specification and practical solutions, the project came in on budget and without drama. Our home has retained all of the traditional appeal of the period but with MTYAs help, has been upgraded for contemporary family living and were delighted with the result.

Matthew designed a contemporary style new build house and saw it through all the stages from planning, tree protection etc to final completion. Im absolutely delighted with the finished house. It is stunning and far exceeds my initial expectations. Matthew described it as contemporary but timeless and that it certainly is. The finish is very exact and sharp. The process was smooth and Adam was very organised and prepared me for each stage, thinking ahead and forward planning for potential obstacles. They both came up with practical and beautiful ways to use spaces and the house is full of light and wonderful reflections. They also were accommodating to my modest budget and worked with this coming up with ideas of staging things or more cost effective alternatives. The builder who they recommended was wonderful and this again made the project smooth and stress free for me as a client. Thank you very much.

Excellent firm. Designed a complex house extension, solving a number of problems that had proved challenging for other people that had looked at it, which we love. They project-managed the building (done by M. Robins of Stoke Row, also an ace firm), which has come in on schedule. Highly recommended.
