I was referred here by 111 for emergency services for a toothache. Unfortunately, I was few minutes late for my appointment 14:00 because of traffic. The receptionist asked me to fill out the form after confirming my name and information. While I was filling out the form, a doctor came down from upstairs and said he didn't see the patient at 14:15 and he had to cancel. I was sitting next to him, but I didn't realize it was me they were talking about since they didnt mention my name. After the doctor went up stairs, the reception called me and told me that I couldn't see the dentist because I was 20 minutes late. I said it wasn't even 20 minutes. Close to 20 minutes, she said. Then I was asked to leave. It was not even 14:20 when I had to call 111 again to make a new appointment with the dentist.
So why the reception didn't tell the dentist I'm here? They can even tell me I'm late and the appointment is cancelled when I came in. Instead of the dentist coming down and asking where the patient is and not telling me.
I know the NHS gives some benefits to dentists who receive emergency care. If you want benefits and you don't want to be responsible, that's not right.
