My mother was a resident here for only a short time before she passed away. During her time there she was looked after well and I was very pleased with the care she received.

This is an exceptional Nursing Home with an ethos that is simply second to none. It deserves its local reputation for high standards and first class care. There is a close working relationship between all members of staff, from management and administration, to carers, to the house team. It engenders a terrific team spirit of cheerfulness and goodwill in every aspect of their collective work. Caring for the residents is personal, gentle, understanding and always patient with those everyday struggles borne of dementia and age. The weekly programme of activities plays an important part - thoughtfully planned to involve the residents and always interesting, stimulating and well attended. The house is kept so fresh and the Chef's fayre for sometimes lethargic residents is delicious -for visitors too. Headed up by Charlotte and supported by Clare we, as a family, have been involved in every stage of decision making and forward planning - actually including us as part of the team too, in my sister's welfare. In the 18 months since my sister's admission with dementia, I have been struck by the outstanding achievement of maintaining these levels of excellence. Through the efforts of the gardner and the wonderful landscape he has created, the sense of confidence in Hazlehurst begins merely by driving up to the house! And once inside, for those of us needing sanctuary for a family member, it just gets better. So a big thank you to all of you. Sheila Childs

Wonderful, wondeful care home.... This is the best. They cared for my Father for 4 years!
