This was our First and Definitely Last visit to the Dam Inn. Went with two friends for Sunday lunch carvery, however, we werent told about the carvery, we were just given menus and told it was table service. We finally established that there was a carvery and went to get our meal. A young man was serving the rather dried up meat when a large man dressed in navy blue took over and was very rude when a comment was made about the concrete slab they where trying to pass off as stuffing sticking to the spoon. The waiting staff were either stood about in groups talking or they disappeared altogether, when they were about, trying to attract their attention was impossible. The final insult was when the bill came and they had the audacity to include service charge which we quickly had removed. WE DO NOT TIP FOR BAD SERVICE. I stand by the above review as that is what happened on that day. However, Josh reached out and invited us back in the hope he could reverse our opinion. We accepted his invitation and had a lovely meal and great service. THANK YOU, we will be back.

Food good, if a bit pricey for what it is. Interior fairly recently redone, clean and presentable. Staff friendly. Good location to have lunch then go for a wander around the Dam itself. Staff got one part of the order wrong, but this was soon corrected. Two issues - The car park at the pub is a bit small and cramped, though there is adequate public parking the other side of the dam. Also you have to pay for parking here (1 for two hours, 2 for four hours) so make sure you have some cash with you. Biggest annoyance is that on the last page of the menu, in small print, under the kids desert menu, they quietly announce that they will automatically add a 10% VOLUNTARY SERVICE CHARGE!!!! Bit naughty in these days, if you don't check your bill. Overall not a bad place to visit, good chain pub.
