My first visit was to the pub was in 1982. At the time of writing the pub is up for sale, hopefully the new owners will maintain the great atmosphere and service will carry on as before.

It's a great pub, BUT as it's for sale doesn't seem to be as well looked after, snack selection not great, smaller choice of beers than previous visits. I do hope a new owner can be found and they can bring it back to it's former glory

Turned up at 11:40 and was told they were closed, despite it saying 12:30 online. So maybe their hours on here are wrong but it was still irritating.

Absolutely shocking experience. Went in for a few drinks last night. Considering we had already purchased around 5 rounds and we were enjoying using the pool table. The guy behind the bar looked like he didnt want to be there and the woman came up to us to ask what we were drinking and followed on to tell us that if we dont have a drink in our hands at all times then we cant stay in the establishment. This is just as we had finished the previous drinks and the glasses had just been put down on the table next to us. Dont know how they expect the business to keep running if they treat customers like this

Good pub, great choice of beers, amazing pork scratchings and spicy nuts. Good staff.
