Pinderfields leaves a LOT to be desired for especially for deaf patients in A&E. Some doctors will not remove their masks when you need to lipread them despite telling them I am totally deaf. Please TEACH your doctors and nurses of all ethnicities deaf awareness. That should be a priority or even mandatory. Please meet us deaf people half way, no matter whether one is having a bad day. Had to crawl to the A&E waiting room as in agony with kidney stones (have been in agony for past two weeks) as one of the nurse was abrupt. I couldn't walk at all cos of the pain. I didn't come to A&E to be treated like that, I am seeking help and they should recognise when one is in absolutely agony with tears rolling down in pain. Fix it now.

Giving birth in this hospital was the most traumatic experience I have ever thought I will have. They left me 40.5h in labour and just told me to sleep! Because that's possible when your in labour. I was in active labour all by myself until one nurse finally made the decision that I have to be moved to the birthing room. I had to walk all the way because sitting was not possible anymore. Once in the room... The midwife kept saying not to scream and to stop pushing which is also not possible if the baby is already on its way. She just sat at her desk filling in papers and telling me off. Criticsing me that I am in pain? Then she just left the room constantly for a while and left me alone. I must note here, that my water had broke well over 24h ago at this point and I had high blood pressure and started to feel disy. Finely she complained about me to the doctor because I couldn't tell her wether or not my badder was full. You can't feel this at this point. So I couldn't tell. The doctor had a glance below and told her... Deliver this baby! NOW! But she wasn't having it. She left again... Only then after a couple of minutes 2 different midwives came in to help to their suprise about how far along I was all on my own and how dangerously high my blood pressure has become. I have a healthy little girl but I wish I could have had a more caring experience. I would never go to this hospital or ever suggest it to another woman.
