        Well maintained war memorial in black granite stone. Its situated right by Purley Way main road with a lay-by in front of it if you want to stop and have a quick look. Round the base are some quotes from Churchill and inscriptions. Croydon Airfield has quite a history so its good to see a memorial placed here. Enjoy a walk on the green common too which is a nice contrast with the surrounding industrial park states.
