Not a particularly nice experience because of the manager called Dee. The pub inside was lovely but she was very short at my mother and I when ordering. We heard her mutter for one other customer to F off and also saw your her stick her fingers in some of the food before leaving the kitchen. Quite amazing the audacity really!

Went in for a drink with a friend this May Bank Holiday. Service at the bar was appalling. Spent 90 mins here and the queue was out the door. The tables out front were covered in glasses and plates. No one cleared them the whole time we were there. Bar staff plodded along and half of them didn't know how to pull a pint, pouring half of it away because of too much head. I was raised in a bar and worked bars for 20 years. Makes me weep that such a big pub in an historic area is so badly run.

The pub itself is comfortable and theyve got a nice selection of beer and food (though pricey). Unfortunately, the staff were overwhelmed and service was slowwwww. I had some issues with my orders as well (ran out of wine and wanted to mix 2 different ones in one glass!) I think they needed a more senior manager present to help organise things better and solve issues.

One person behind the bar on bank holiday is probably not best practice Incredibly slow service with no urgency. I think some staff training wouldnt go a miss. Paid for drinks and didnt receive half the order :(

reserved a table for Sunday lunch. And, while the food was good, the service was, to put it mildly, subpar. Staff appeared uninterested. My husband and I ordered a glass of wine each, which did not arrive until we had finished eating, despite our three requests, however the waiter did apologise when it did appear. It's a shame since it used to be such a great pub, but I just feel like it's gone downhill, and we left feeling pretty let down by the whole thing
