I'm sure the Dove Church is, itself very pleasant, and I have nothing to say about that. However, I went there to attend a practice of the Uttoxeter Town Brass Band. They say they are a community band, meaning they are friendly and welcoming to all members of the community. This is not true. I had an unfriendly reception, and nobody bothered to say goodbye afterwards. Afterwards I received a cold email telling me I wasn't welcome and not to come back. I live in Uttoxeter so I'm a local member of the Uttoxeter community: this felt to me like an instruction to leave town or commit suicide. Most unpleasant.
