Redmire Barn Dales Holiday Cottage

We stayed at the Barn for 5 nights at the end of June and had a wonderful time. The whole stay was very Covid-secure, but still felt cosy and comfortable. The provided linens/towels/blankets were all of a very high quality and the beds were exceptional - some of the best sleep I've had in ages! Rachel and Simon are superb hosts - from the very thoughtful welcome basket, to going above and beyond for our baby (a highchair, cribs, toys) - we really felt well taken care of and very welcome. The barn itself is a beautiful building with loads of character and a really high standard of finish - it just felt like a lovely place to be. Lastly, the surroundings; you could not ask for a more picturesque setting, it's absolutely gorgeous, peaceful, you name it. Situated in the heart of the Dales, we felt that we were well situated for walks, with plenty of places nearby for food and drink (Rachel and Simon kindly provide a great list of recommendations). We all left feeling happy, refreshed and utterly relaxed - we'll definitely be back!

We spent a week at Redmire Barn in June 2021, and had a wonderful stay. Redmire Barn is in a beautifully peaceful location, and we were lucky with the weather to be able to eat outside on the patio looking out over the hills on the other side of the valley. We took our bikes and appreciated the secure bike storage just outside, as well as the quiet lanes for cycling. The barn is beautifully decorated, and looks just as good as it did in the photos. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, and everything was exceptionally clean. We enjoyed the welcome basket of local goodies. Simon and Rachel were very welcoming, and happy to chat during the week while not being intrusive and giving us our own space. The list of recommended pubs and restaurants emailed beforehand was very helpful. We had a lovely meal in Grassington House one evening, and can recommend the pies at the Queens Arms in Litton! Its a very pleasant walk along the river to the Falcon in Arncliffe. It was our first visit to the Yorkshire Dales, and wont be our last. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Redmire Barn. I still can't quite believe how perfect our holiday was!

We had such a wonderful stay at Redmire Barn. Simon & Rachel were so welcoming and very attentive hosts, while still giving us privacy. The barn itself is beautifully furnished with lots of attention to detail and quality touches, it felt incredibly homely. There was a very comprehensive guest guide with all the information you could need to make the most out of your stay. The whole place was spotlessly clean and we felt very covid safe. The kitchen is superbly equipped with quality crockery and utensils - a rare thing we have found from staying in many other cottages! The riverside, which forms part of the barn boundary for guests use is beautiful and so quiet and a walk up into the fells across to Kettlewell gave us the most breathtaking scenery. The whole experience is a real credit to our tourist industry ! Well done to you both for creating such an enchanting space :) We would highly recommend and would love to return !
