I have been living in one of LUSU properties since the start of this academic year and I have had a terrible experience. Many items in the house are disfunctional and they take a lot of time to fix issues. My flatmates and I have been needing to send repeated emails just to have light in one of our bathrooms. Even worse, once they fixed it they left an open hole in the roof and dirt falls into our shower. They still havent fixed that. We have had a wood pannel instead of a window in our living room for 4 weeks. It is terrible.

Unwilling to reduce rents during Covid pandemic. Students are suffering a hard loss paying for accommodation that they are not occupying due to legal restrictions, university being canceled, and financial pressures due to losing part-time jobs etc. Many organisations have wavered 3rd term rent, including in Lancashire with UCLan and Aparto. Landlords are even making extra profit during pandemic as they have bills included in the contract (in our case 40 per month per tenant AKA 280 per month) however none of the utilities will even be used as the property is vacant therefore this will be additional profit! A pandemic where students lose, landlords win (with extra profits of 280 per month) and LUSU Living are unwilling to reach a compromise to share the loss. Why aren't you helping to share the loss from this crisis, must it only be the students who bare the burden? Current tenant at LA1 1SE.
