Had problems with Jim Palmer fulfilling what he said this company would do when he first visited. He was very pushy and promised the world but the so called finished job was well below standard despite Jim saying it was perfect! Jim was incensed when I said it was not up to par and threatened to take me to court! He acted in a totally unprofessional and unreasonable manner. I contacted citizens advice and sent photos of the so-called finished job and made complaint and Kevin sorted things out. Thank you Kevin. At least you listened and were reasonable. Beware pushy company doing a hurried poor job. Please check very carefully that their written quote matches what they initially verbally promise you before agreeing for the work to go ahead.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this company, they are very professional, friendly and trustworthy. They communicated with us throughout our project, and went to great lengths to produce a first class job. They are also competitively priced. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

This firm is merely a facilitator, subcontracting jobs, but utilising an in house team too sometimes. I became an unlucky one and assigned sub standard painters and decorators. I engaged with Jim Palmer of H J Palmer Property Maintenance and was impressed with experience and know how when he visited my property in September 2021. He re-enforced my opinion of the firm's website which promises high standards, is family run with many years experience, and with guarantees of the finished job. At no time did he mention using sub contractors. Therefore it was surprising to see DKL Renovations t/a H J Palmer Property on the invoice along with a request to pay half the invoiced price before commencement of work. Pushy to provide a team ASAP, Jim Palmer booked DKL which is managed and run by Kevin Woodford. But disappointingly Mr Woodford fell well short in providing an acceptable standard of service. The first decorator told me he was under training, but no one supervised him. He arrived with virtually no tools or standard equipment. He asked if he could borrow my tool box to help him along! The second team were not much better and caused damage to my property, still some unresolved, 3 months on. Therefore I approached Citizens Advice who advised initially to forward a quote to both HJ Palmer and DKL in order to help resolve the issue. Whilst Kevin sent polite responses, Jim forwarded a threatening, intimidating email the tone of which I have never encountered during many years in business. Do check the small print. I shall never use this firm again.
