My dog has been going to this daycare for almost 3 years. He used to absolutely love it, he used to come home every night happy and wagging his tail excited.
But recently we have started to see changes in his behaviour when he came home. On multiple occasions he has come home in fear. Shaking, disconnected and not his usual self (not accepting any treats from us) etc.
This morning there was some photos shared on the story of the daycare which has caused some concerns that we already had to become more apparent.
As you see all of the dogs engaged (maybe waiting for a treat) and my dog in the background looking sheepish.
This caused me to be upset and I immediately picked him up from the daycare.
When arriving I was greeted from Johnny (who is amazing btw) he has been there ever since we started taking Zeus.
I talked to him about my concerns, then I was interrupted by one of the new owners (Abbie) who came from the back with Zeus.
Her attitude was appalling from the start. She blamed Zeus for being tired or his favourite dogs werent in today so he didnt want to play. Then she went out into the back, knowing I was still having a conversation about my concerns with Johnny. But she just left him to it.
As a part owner of this business and a member of staff who is meant to care for my dog, this didnt sit right with me. She wasnt interested what so ever in resolving the issue.
It just seems to me that the new owners have no experience what so ever in dog behaviour or reading vital signs that a dog is unhappy. I have spoken to a number of people who used to take their dogs there but pulled them out due to not trusting the new owners in giving their dogs the time and care they need. Now I see why.
So personally, after almost 3 years Ill never take my dog back. Hes a rescue from Greece and he has built up a lot of confidence in the years we have had him, and now he was starting to slowly go back to square one.
I didnt want it to come to this but I dont feel satisfied with the treatment I have received regarding my concerns about the welfare of my dog.
