We had already discussed that there would be a gap around the frame, but it could be covered with a "bit of beading". Used 45mm lipping (almost covered the whole frame) up the sides, but left the 10mm gap at the top, claiming the concrete lintel was bowed. It isn't. I've now paid somebody else 160 to remove the lipping and fit a proper trim around all three edges.
Instead of fitting the thresh on top of the impervious step, ripped part of the step out (without asking) and sat the timber thresh on bare bricks with no DPC underneath.
Siliconed the thresh join before any cleaning up, so it's dried full of debris.
Has completely butchered the frame to set the keeps, which are a mile out of plumb, sitting in holes which are way too big and full of raw splinters.
I managed to clean up all the expanding filler that was left on the brickwork, but I couldn't get it off the millboard step; that's now permanently stained and will have to be replaced.
I'm saving up now to replace everything.
