The Vicarage is fabulous!! We rented this home as a family of 8 for my mums 60th birthday and couldnt believe our luck when we drove up the driveway; its absolutely beautiful, with lots of period features inside, loads of parking outside, we could have easily had four cars on the drive - probably more. To begin, its really cosy and warm - this is really important when you are in Newcastle in October as the weather is somewhat inclement. The lounge is wonderful and comfortable, suitable for a really good catch up, playing board games and/or having a morning coffee. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need and the fridge/freezer has loads of room for a family of 8 (we bought enough for a dinner, three breakfasts, snacks and more wine than I care to admit) - we did a massive online order before arriving so were pleased with the storage. The kitchen itself is also really spacious, which is perfect when multiple people are preparing food or just mooching on a morning. The bedrooms were lovely, large and comfortable with heavy curtains that block out all the light and really big comfy beds, perfect for a lazy morning when you want to sleep past your alarm. As it was wet and cold we didnt manage to make use of the garden, but if you go in summer I can imagine sitting in the sunshine with an aperitif in hand, its set back and well shielded from any noise from the road. A trip into town (Newcastle Quayside) was a quick 10/15 minute Uber ride which was about 10 - super simple. Finally, Sergio (our host) was easy to communicate with, both via email and WhatsApp, we didnt need to contact him during our stay as everything went smoothly, however, I have no doubt he would be able to assist in the unlikely event anything went wrong. Everything seems to have been really well thought through, Id definitely recommend the Vicarage if youre ever staying in Newcastle.
