I have been receiving tuition from Jimi since 2006 and over the last 10 years I have gone from being a very sketchy bedroom player to achieving a Merit in Grade 7 electric guitar and a member of a gigging band. As a late starter, in my mid-twenties I found Jimi to be very sympathetic to the challenges facing an adult learner. I cant emphasise how much more efficient and effective it is to meaningfully learn from someone like Jimi, who has mastered their instrument. It is so much better in a one to one situation than rote learning licks from a magazine or you tube. Jimi gives constructive and effective feedback and never makes me feel useless (even if I feel like I am sometimes!) Dont put it off just contact Jimi, stick with it and you will have great value access to a very talented man who can help you realise your potential.

Known Jimi for years and know of his love of music and guitars. After buying a new Ibanez I felt it needed to be set up correctly and he was the person who would would have the expertise to do this I brought my guitar in last night and it was ready to collect tonight. I had the truss rod adjusted, action, inotation, pickups realigned and the trem bridge adjusted. Guitar plays like a dream....well for someone just learning. Cheers Jimi

"I started taking guitar lessons with Jimi about 10 years ago. At that time I could not play much of anything thing on my (then new) electric guitar. Prior to meeting Jimi, I had taken some lessons with a local guitar teacher, although he could play guitar really well, I found his teaching methods hard to follow and his preparation for the lessons poor. Jimis teaching style is very laid back but focused and effective, even though I am a very busy person and cant always commit nearly as much time to practice as I should and would like to; I average about an hour of practice per day. Jimi's patience and his unique way of motivating me as well as his willingness to work with me at my own pace make me a very pleased student. I am really pleased to see my constant, linear progress and improvement in my playing. I leave each session with a sense of accomplishment and can't wait to get back home and practice. Since I started taking lessons with Jimi I have a much better understanding of the guitar and music theory, I have also passed my RGT exams and am currently studying for my Grade 8 exam. If you are like me and have always hankered to learn the guitar, but arent sure how to start. I dont think you could do better than giving Jimi Savage a try, It has certainly worked for me! But be warned! Once you start to play the guitar you wont be able to stop! Ian Dodsworth

Since Ive started having guitar lessons with Jimi Savage Ive improved dramatically! He teaches, improvisation, sight reading, theory and all the hard stuff that most people may not like, but puts it in a way that really easy to understand and very enjoyable and importantly to be musical. Although I used to use YouTube videos before I went for lessons, its with Jimi that has made the big difference to me because he emphasises what is most important along the way and highlighted what is not obvious and gives direction. He covers everything and comes with great recommendations. Im really pleased I found him. Adam Wellwood Coxhoe, Durham. DH6
