The German Teacher

I started learning German with Susanne in 2021, having not done so since school many years ago. The lessons are very well structured and well focussed and Susanne has an excellent teaching style and always checks understanding. Due to the high level of teaching we have made a lot of progress and are ahead of where we would normally be had we followed a textbook. We have also learned about German culture (e.g. at Christmas and Easter), this is very interesting and helped us improve our language too.

I absolutely recommend Susanne's German beginners class! The lessons are very well structured and it's a lovely environment being in a group with others at the same level learning together. I'm already feeling far more confident with German than when I started. We use a text book and activity book to follow different topics and it always keeps the lessons interesting and interactive. Susanne is a wonderful teacher with plenty of patience and she always finds new ways to make our lessons fun and engaging. Previously I've learnt German basics briefly in school many years ago and online but I highly recommend the German beginners class as you learn subjects and sentence structure in a clear and more organised way. You are never too old to learn a language and as a pensioner with Austrian roots who never learned the language as a child I started having lessons with the German Teacher recently. And what a teacher! I have learned really quickly and we have such fun discussing the details of life in Germany and Austria. Susanne even makes the grammar clear and manageable. All my lessons are online and Susanne is expert at using the technology so if anyone is hesitating about tackling German in this way I can highly recommend it. Thank you for everything.

Learning with Susanne has improved my German massively. With individually tailored lessons to my interests and level my German skills developed quickly. Also the opportunity of group classes means I've learnt so much and my conversation skills have improved greatly! This really showed when I went abroad recently and could put my language skills to use! I would recommend anyone to learn German with Susanne, you won't regret it!

Suzannes classes are a unique experience. They are well prepared, fun yet they stretch you without you realising it. We meet in quite a small space so the class size is limited which is good as at times it is almost like a private lesson. We are encouraged to do extra work at home too. Difficult parts of grammar are explained in English to ensure we understand but the rest is fully German. Suzanne is a talented and experienced teacher and I can thoroughly recommend The German Teacher as a means of learning the language and the culture.
