I am really unhappy about the service we got from cygnet events and felt as though I should make others aware, as other reviews do not reflect the experience we personally had. We went on the Christmas train ride, being informed we would be met by elves to be placed on the train. Then we would have an enjoyable train ride to go and see Mrs Claus, and see Santa in intivals. Firstly, there was 1 elf, who looked like a regular guy with some elf slippers and a hat on, who was not very jolly, already effecting our experience. We then were told there was not a lot of space left on the train for us, so myself and my family had to split up, and my youngest son had to sit on our knees, although we had booked tickets in October, and were told under twos would go for free but have to sit on an adults knee.... our 4 year old had to sit on our knee all cramped up and we had to pay the full 10.... On the rod, you go a very short distance from the bottom of the priory, around the car park and back, meanwhile the elf does not interact, sits at the back of the train. Your left to look around, bored. You then get taken into the building where Mrs.claus is, which is where you get on the train, so you see what the end result is before the train ride. Its oddly decorated with a rainbow balloon arch, and then half arsed pictures of Santa posted. You get into the room and it looks well worn. The elves inside do not interact well, instead standing on the outskirts of the room, saying nothing whilst mrs.claus does everything. I can not fault the lady who played Mrs.claus, she was great with the kids. Adults then get what I think was Bucks Fizz, but literally a mouthful, and kids get some weak juice. You then get your name called out to see Santa.... they kept getting my sons name wrong, even though I gave them it months in advance and told them on the day. You get told your not allowed to take photos of Santa in his area.... which is very unfair, as they allow you to take photos when he is out in the main room where it looks tacky, if you want a photo in Santas little grotto, you have to pay extra. I wasnt informed before visiting that extra costs would be incurred, I had not brought change with myself. Also you only see Santa for literally a minute, he says hi, asks if theyve been good, didnt ask what they wanted for Christmas, instead handed them a gift and sent us on our way. For 10 per person, I would have expected better, i dont know if it was due to quantity of train rides that the quality was forgotten about, but I didnt expect it to be quite as shabby and half thought out. I wont be coming on any train rides again or recommending it to anybody. I think its unfair that you overbook, leading my family having to sit apart on what should have been an enjoyable train ride. I hope you take some of this into consideration and inprove for families sakes next year.
