Sandys Fishmongers Ltd

Sandys is the best fishmonger for miles and has been a solid authority in Twickenham as long as I can remember. Expect queues all year round but especially around the holidays. Cant leave a review without mentioning the eccentric charm of the decor including lots of animal statues and mascots that greet you on entrance. Highly recommended

Been coming here on and off for years and two out of last three experiences have been poor. Salmon that was just on the edge of turning and smoked haddock which was stale when opened at home and totally disgusting when cooked. The white fish here has often been so so quality at best but theres no way back if a fishmonger serves fish thats off. Also the server was trying to get me to take a much bigger piece than I wanted which was off putting. Prices arent cheap either.

There is no need to say how good this fishmongers been through decades but I would like to thank them for their solidarity for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. As a Turkish man , I could not stop crying to see the giant Turkish flag display when I stopped at the traffic light in Twickenham. Thanks a lot and God bless you Sandys

Sadly, I always feel its a chore for the staff to serve you. I felt compelled to write as I was in the shop yesterday, and an elderly customer had to ask again about the price, and a member of staff (clearing down, not even serving) shouted out Hes already told you that! Looking at the negative reviews, I cant disagree. Sandys is renowned locally for being very expensive too 3.50 for a small handful of Samphire?! But I guess when youre the only independent fishmonger around the area you can afford to operate as above. On a side note: itd do wonders for the environment if they switched off their unnecessary 365 days light displays!! Their electricity bills must be sky high maybe thats why their prices are too? To be fair, I have never had a problem with the produce. Always fine.

Amazing selection on fresh seafood and price is very reasonable. You can find really good razor clam, shellfish occasionally. One of the best fishmonger within the area.
