I was speaking to my parents who mentioned they dropped off our ancient and broken family pc here to try and extract data off the (also ancient) hard drive and they mentioned that PC Mac Doctors tried to charge them 180 for this. Hearing this I instantly said I'd pick the PC up and do it myself given I know a bit about computers. I took it home and within an hour I had this PC posting again (it would boot but not post) and the photos they wanted off of the hard drive and into a more modern external hard drive. The people I interacted with were very nice and I had no issues collecting the computer, however I struggle to see what the 180 charge was for and why it was so large. My parents felt as if PC Mac Doctors were stringing them along and I can understand why they think this after being faced with a potential fee of 180 for this service, thankfully they never paid it and I did it free of charge. Edit: Im not going to argue with you since we believe both were working fine since the computer was last used so what exactly you fixed we will never know. My main issue with your statement would be if youd repaired the drive already why does it cost 180 to access it? Then you did reduce your price by 50% which, if anything, supports our feeling that you were attempting to charge extortionate prices (hence the review) for simple work an unqualified 19 year old did in one hour. Final edit: You seem to be missing the main point of my review which is the extortionate price you attempted to charge to simply access a hard drive. After reading through your review I'm still not sure what this charge would even be paying for since you claim to have fixed it all yourselves despite all the hardware working fine last time it was used. You've also conveniently changed the price you attempted to charge in your response from 180 to 150 which we both know is a flat out lie. You also mention the computer wouldn't boot when you received it yet I struggle to see how you would only have fixed the computer in order to have it boot yet not post which is the state of it when I first turned it on.
