Anstey Hall Hotel

Truly the worst hotel experience ever! Dirty, uncomfortable, cold, unfriendly, no food or drink service. The self service breakfast plates were encrusted with old food. When we complained, the scruffy waitress simply said Fuck off. Ejected into the car park by the pompous manager after complaining about being insulted. This place MUST be avoided at all costs! (See numerous similar reviews on Tripadvisor) POST SCRIPT. April 2023. After five years and dozens of further hotels, this remains the winner of the prize for the very worst weve ever visited.

This is a truly unique hotel with so many things to look at, its quirky and historic. The grounds are pretty, the location makes it easy to get around too. I can honestly say it was the first place Ive stayed where a giant wooden wall conceals a magic door to your bathroom!! We were lucky enough to stay when no event was happening so it was very quiet and fun to have a drink at their little bar.

I did not stay at this hotel and after hearing comments from the owner John, i would never want to stay there, on a four in a bed that they was on the owner John stated that a tv in another guests hotel was like a council estate tv I was extremely angry over this comment and should not of been aired to the public that live in council houses, I want an apology
