But it paid via my phone that was in hand lady on till refused to give me a refund and let me pay on my card very fustrating and was very rude

I was out for a bike ride and my tyre had gone flat. I was in the middle of nowhere and found this service station off a country road (obviously I wasnt cycling down the M1!!). I went in and asked the staff if they could help me with the air pump and they could not be more keen to help if they tried. Three staff members got involved to try help, one man who knew a lot about bikes tried the air pump (to no avail because I have a shraeder valve), and a lady went to her car and tried two pumps that she had in her boot. We didnt manage to pump my tyre but they spent nearly an hour with me trying to help which I really appreciated. Safe to say I now carry a pump and inner tube with me !!
