We had our wedding reception/meal here for 15 people in the function room. Another 20 or so joined later for drinks. Its right next door to the registry office and within easy walking distance of the town centre Premier Inn where alit if guests were staying, so very convenient for this type of event The function room is a good size, and had a sound bar you could connect your phone to for music. The landlady Rose produced a great meal for us at very competitive prices...3 course dinner for just over 25 per head...great value. The food was well cooked and generously portioned. Service throughout was efficient and friendly. Overall really we were very happy and had an amazing evening

I rarely go for a drink in Trowbridge, though I have visited the Lamb on a few occasions to watch/take part in musical events at the attached village pump venue. Therefore when my friend (a music industry professional who hadn't been there before) asked if I'd care to join him to watch a few local acts, I was more than happy to introduce him to the venue. We enjoyed a very pleasant evening watching the bands in the pump venue and chatting with the musicians in the courtyard outside, only entering the pub itself in order to buy drinks and use the loo. Upon leaving the pub at the end of the evening, we were approached by a member of staff who accused my colleague of drawing a lewd graphic above the pool table in the pub and threatened to bar him from the pub. Apparently the perpetrator was wearing glasses and since my friend happens to require glasses in order to see the beer prices clearly (nearly 5 a pop), the staff member deduced that he must be the guilty party even though 1. He didn't spend the evening in the actual pub, let alone go anywhere near the pool table. And 2. He's is in no way affiliated with the group of young drinkers who were playing pool for most of the evening. Just to be clear, my friend is a middle aged family Man who, amongst other duties heads up a crisis management team in order to keep music festival goers safe and has, during the course of his career raised millions in charity revenue to rehouse victims of natural disasters. He is not disposed to defacing venues that he visits in order to support live music, of which he is nothing less than a champion supporter. Having said all this, If we happen to patronise the venue in the future, I hope the staff member involved will consider offering an apology which would be appreciated and duly accepted as we understand that cases of mistaken identity are commonplace enough. A complimentary drink would also be acceptable as a token of goodwill and assurance that our continued custom is valued here.

A nice big wadworths pub. Everything you'd expect in a proper pub, pool table, cask conditioned real ale. Always a good pint of Wadsworths 6X.
