When I returned home I noticed soft white grainy bits in my mouth, but assumed it was probably some residue. I then noticed large chunks of soft filling material falling from the buccal area of my 2nd molar, and I realised the filling wasnt cured long enough! I now had a hole in my tooth. It was sensitive during brushing, but there were no random pains. I had to avoid food, because it would get stuck in the hole.
I rang the 130 Dental Centre the following Monday to arrange an urgent appointment with Dentist2 to get the filling fixed upon my return. I trusted Dentist2, as I had work done by them previously. I was told Dentist2 was fully booked until the 16th of June. I was advised to call every Monday and Thursday mornings to see if Dentist2 has had any cancellations that day to book myself in. When I rang on the 23rd of May at 10:12, I was given an appointment with Dentist2 for 14:40 on Thursday the 26th of May. I mentioned the distress I was in.
So I go in on the 26th of May for my appointment, and I am told that I havent been booked in! I was visibly upset and insisted that I had called at around 10am on the 23rd of May to book the appointment. The receptionist was understanding, and told me that whoever took the call did not write me in. She went upstairs to see if any other dentist could see me and sent me to Dentist3. Dentist3 informed me they had drill more to re-do the filling, and they thoroughly cured it, so it would harden. I was told that I would probably have to get my tooth extracted at some point (information I was not told after the initial filling)!
I know youre busy, but if you dont have the time to complete a filling - dont start one.
