One evening, while scanning my shopping at the self-checkout in my local Waitrose, I unfortunately witnessed a distressing incident. A fellow customer was shouting inappropriate words at a member of staff, who appeared visibly upset. Despite the severity of the situation, there was no manager or additional staff member present to support the employee in question as she endured verbal abuse. As a customer who values and respects the hard work of those who serve us, I am deeply disappointed by the lack of action taken by my local Waitrose in this instance. It is disheartening to see a member of staff being subjected to such treatment, with no assistance offered while they were also dealing with other customers on the self-service machines. I strongly urge Waitrose Fulham to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their employees.
