I was emotionally very impressed whilst visiting Pollyanna yesterday with my daughter to buy school shoes. We walked in (my daughter wearing ear defenders) and the young girl on the shop floor instantly asked if wed like her to turn the music down. This has never happened in any shop or place weve ever visited!! Thank you young girl, you are amazing and deserve praise!! My daughter was clearly very anxious in the shop and I knew you could see that but you were quick, inclusive and friendly which made it a lot easier than it couldve been. We were in and out in 10 mins and we left happy Thank you for your kindness and understanding, a lot of stores could learn from you!!

Do NOT buy from this store online. They have kept my money. Haven't answered any messages on email, or through PayPal, social media, their phone line is dead and apparently the neighbouring shop says they've closed down. You will lose your money if you order from them. Having to try & get money back through PayPal. Total scammers that they're still taking orders and money off customers knowing their business is closed.

Racist shop salespeople/owner. I have never experienced racism personally all my life but the way they treated me was absolutely despicable. They had signs all over the shop windows advertising 'All Geox 15'. I luckily found a pair of school shoes daughter (size UK2.5jnr) and when asked the 1st salesperson how much she confirmed 15. Then I went downstairs to see if I can find some for my son but not so lucky. When I went to the till to pay for my daughter's shoes, another salesperson had appeared, looked at the shoes and me them said32.50 (50% off the original price). I said to her :your colleague had confirmed 15 and your signs said 15'. She replied, 'yes but not these ones and they're women sizes!!! ' and rushed to put them back on the shelf. I left the store in absolute disgust but returned quickly to ask another customer who was clearly an adult how much she paid for her shoes and she also confirmed she paid the sale price which for her style of shoes she chose was 20 and I can assure you her size was over 38 (UK5). Now if this scenario doesn't scream or Racism then set me straight!!! My partner and I are Asian. To your reply: there were plenty of witnesses in the shop to concur with me what really happened! So why don't you explain how your sign doesn't apply to my intended purchase of a girls pair of geox school shoes?

I went to Pollyanna because I wanted to get a first pair of shoes for my 14-month old daughter and wanted a brand other than Clarks or Startrite. Pollyanna's website gave me the impression that it stocked a good range of other brands and that it would be able to offer expert advice, being a dedicated children shoe shop. The employee who served me was very nice but very young and had clearly little experience of toddler shoes (which he later admitted to me). He measured only one of my daughter's feet and was unable to advise on what makes a good first shoe. The shop owner was there but, while not busy with another customer, he was not interested in offering any help. I could not work out whether he did not have the knowledge I had hoped for or was simply rude and unwilling to help. Only information that I got from him was that first shoes were to protect feet when starting to walk outside (really?!), that little boots were more for autumn while shoes with a more open top were more for summer, and that there was not much difference between brands (I was offered only 2 brands, one being Startrite), all would be fine. He left the shop to run an errand half way through me being there, leaving me with the lovely (I mean this, he was truly nice) but unexperienced employee who did not know whether the shoes we were trying fitted or not. I am not a first-time mum and have experience of buying children shoes. Never had such a bad experience. I left without any shoes. I then went to the Shoe Station in Kew (they also specialise in children shoes) and the experience could not have been any more different. The staff was welcoming, experienced and helpful. My daughter now has a lovely first pair of shoes that I know for sure fits well.
