Having run a successful business for 28 years, I had never previously required the services of a debt recovery firm, but having spent almost two years patiently trying to get a client to release a retention sum due from a successfully completed contract, I finally decided that enough was enough when I received a speculative email from Westbury Collections. The firm offered to recover what I was owed on a 'no win, no fee' basis for a 15% commission. Given all the time I had spent chasing this invoice I decided that it could be a worthwhile investment. The Account Manager that I dealt with (Matthew Stevens) was helpful, friendly and efficient. One letter to the debtor (which I was provided with a copy of) was enough produce an instant payment of the original sum due. Though the firm tried to ignore further written requests for interest and costs due, one phone call to them from Matthew was enough for the firm to concede. The issue of interest and costs was an important point of principle for me, because if debtors thought that they could get away with regularly paying invoices two years late, why would they not continue to do so? Westbury Collections provided me with an excellent service that I unhesitatingly recommend to others faced with similar circumstances.
