DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited

Really terrible company. I have emergency home insurance with them. They didnt have any engineers available when I had a home emergency. They told me I could use my own trades and they would reimburse me. They then refused to reimburse my very reasonable claim, under 200. Referred to the insurance ombudsman. These guys will do anything they can to avoid paying out. AVOID

Dire. Why do reputable companies (in my case a top insurer) use DAS to settle claims/disputes. A truly horrendous experience which got nowhere. The Law Society should really look at the level of care offered being offered here given the number of negative views. Appalling.

ABSOLUTE FRAUDSTERS. Paid for Legal expense cover and rent arrears cover and they used every loophole in the book. They advised me to get the tenant out of the house then subsequently told me the couldn't pay rent arrears because the tenant wasn't out of the property. They then said they wouldnt cover legal expenses to pursue the tenant for the owed rent and the claim for the damage to the property was not "Enough for them" to provide the legal support. Absolute waste of money . Wouldn't recommend to my enemy.. well i would, and that speaks volumes as it is

Responsive and polite over the phone. Especially thankful for Terry's help who took the time to provide me with answers to all of my questions (and find out those that he didn't have readily available). Very happy with the service provided.

A horrible and incompetent company. Timewasters Zero stars if possible. A horrible and incompetent company. Took over one and a half month to reject our claim and then another one and a half month to reply to our complaint to their decision. Their report was as if it was written by they opposition's lawyer. They showed no intention to help. Our claim was very simple and their arguments were totally unconvincing. They only give the impression that would take on cases with 100% prospects of success in which case one wouldn't need their services anyway. Shame on DAS and shame on John Lewis insurance who is using such a fraudulent company for their legal expenses insurance. We are planning not to renew our insurance with John Lewis because they are using such a dishonest company.
