Totnes Library demonstrates the ancient town's commitment to books and learning. A brand new steel and glass building appeared just a couple of years ago which is wonderful. A writing group meets regularly in the large building which connects the new structure of Totnes Library with the Mansion. The staff here are very knowledgeable and helpful. I launched my new book for travel writers here at Totnes Public Library in early 2023. It is a fabulous space and has a exciting, modern feel to working and reading there. Readers here are kind and supportive.

This is a great place. For locals as a public library, and for us as visitors. a library with public internet access provided by Devon County Council. It is all located in a modern steel and glass building located just back from the main high street, so very centrally located. Excellent facilities very helpful staff and thus highly recommended

Long gone are the days when libraries were quiet places In response to your reply, Im not asking for the library to be silent. Libraries are known for being quiet places. A place where people can go to read, learn, and study. But instead you allow children to enter your library and make lots of noise, hence making it very difficult for people to concentrate on reading and studying. So youre not making a library an inclusive place at all! Youre prioritising childrens right to make lots of noise over the wish of adults to enjoy a quiet environment.
