Rooms: Very comfortable and cottagy. Clean, neat and good water pressure in the shower. Walkability: Easy flat short walk to bottom of town, then shops continue up the hill. Food & drinks: Tasty breakfast. Highly attentive staff.

Noteworthy details: Parking on Site, charming building and rooms, very quiet street.

Simplest review I've ever written. We were lucky to get a cancellation for the week and from the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Julie runs a lovely hotel based around a luxury refit of this old rustic forge. We stayed in room 1 which was big and tastefully decorated with a door out to a private patio off the central garden area. The bathroom is modern with a superb walk-in shower. The breakfast choice is extensive and made from quality ingredients. There is private off-road parking at the front of the hotel. This is 5 mins walk from the centre of Totnes. Julie and Mike make excellent hosts and I cannot recommend this hidden jewel highly enough. An truly lovely place to stay to explore Devon's South Hams area.
