When the owners have finished their renovations this is going to be a fabulous holiday let. The bedrooms/bathrooms are already done and great. Large comfortable beds although not a lot of hanging space if you take your gladrags. But its the lake district so not a lot of need for them! The boot room is perfect for all your wet gear and the hot tub perfect for relaxing. The main lounge has 3 comfortable sofas and the dining area has a big table. Smallish conservatory that needs new furniture but the seating was comfortable, if worn. Down side is the kitchen.... Definately needs updating and new crockery. Plenty of pans, dishes and cutlery and a good sized cooker and hob. I'm sure when this area is addressed it will be perfect Personally I'd knock the kitchen through to the dining area and make it a 'living' type kitchen, if its structurally possible. Theres a couple of comfortable hammocks hung from trees in the garden. Again the garden is a work in progress. BBQ area was small and furniture past it's sell-by date so we didn't use. No other garden furniture to slob about on. So it's few short-comings wouldn't put me off going again. I'd love to visit in winter and light the fires!

We came together in Brigg House from Sydney Australia, Glasgow, Aberdeen And Galway and Mullingar in Ireland and found a home away from home . The downstairs bedroom was ideal for my mum who has a little problem with mobility. She and the entire family loved the sunshine and relaxing outlook of the conservatory. To have 5 bed rooms all with ensuite was a massive advantage and really appreciated. Little things like powerpoint that have USB outlets and wifi hotspots were thoughtful and so useful, high tech well hidden in a wonderfully old world home. The hot tub was utilised and enjoyed. The various ordinance maps and brochures were really helpful We really hadn't done enough planning before we got to Torver but found enough resources to plan our days right there in Brigg House. Sprng had sprung and as you can see from pics the lake district looked resplendent . We also had my sisters border collie along who loved the area. So in closing we found the house to be a home for us from all parts of the world and enjoyed the friendliness of the locals in torver and nearby coniston. highly recommended - thanks jonathon
