We loved our short (1 night) stay at The Old Rectory. The hosts were very attentive and our room extremely comfortable with some nice touches provided, including a small decanter of sherry. We really were made to feel like guests in their house. Lovely breakfast. Great location for exploring the Lakes.

Nestled in the fields between Coniston village and Torver. Just 12 min walk to the Coniston Water through the fields. This old and cosy house make you feel at home. Room was very bright and spacious, with fantastic views. Breakfast is one of the best I have had experienced while traveling. Attentive and kind owners make you feel good here. A beautiful place to stay and explore the Lake District.

Stayed 3 nights (two adults and 4yo). Our stay at The Old Rectory was delightful. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure that we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and their attention to detail and personal touches made all the difference. We would highly recommend this guest house B&B to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming retreat in the Lake District. The location is perfect for exploring the Lake District. We will definitely return to get some of the great local walks (in particular The Old Man) in when our 4YO gets a little more stamina.

The rooms are nicely furnished, and clean. The view is beautiful, nice and quiet. Away from Coniston but close enough to be really convenient. There's parking. And if you like a bit of star gazing, there is very little light pollution. The breakfast is tasty with a decent selection of food, with vegan options as well. The TV in the room is small, but really, who comes here to watch TV anyway. They have a nice lounge area and outside seating. The breakfast room is nice and light, a nice relaxing atmosphere whilst eating your breakfast and looking out onto the Lake District They have a great attention to the smaller details, really great hot drink selection in the room, a kettle and a fridge, some small seemingly home-made and super delicious flapjacks, and a small bottle of what tastes like honeyed whisky. The best experience we've had.
