    I recently joined Anatomy 37 and to kickstart my fitness regime I booked 4 personal training sessions with Ben. He devised a programme that had been well thought out - building my confidence with exercises, improving my technique and understanding the best weights to use. Bens friendly and professional approach made the sessions really enjoyable and I would definitely recommend him (and Anatomy 37) to others!

His encouragement, patience, intelligence and adaptability have turned me from a bit of a sofa slob into someone who really enjoys going to the gym and reaping the rewards of regular attendance.

    I started working with Ben back in April 2021 and so far, the only times I've regretted it were when he was making me do hamstring curls :P. I'm not the littlest guy around, but rather than focusing on losing weight, I came to Ben with the very clear goal of improving my strength, as it would directly impact how well I was able to compete in my sport. Any weight loss that came about as a corollary of this was fantastic, but functionality was definitely the priority. Ben listened to me, went through my history with sport and injuries, and came up with a plan to address this. At first, a lot of it was focused on improving joint stability and rehabbing old injuries to a point that they no longer impacted my daily life. Over time, we've gradually transitioned into a much more strength and power focused setup, which has seen massive improvements, to where I'm almost back to the strongest I've ever been, despite being 10 years older than I was the last time I was this strong. He has taken an active interest in my sport, and is always keen to hear about how my latest comp has gone, as it's a good way of benchmarking the improvements we're making. At some point, I'm definitely going to have to make the horrible step into adding more cardio into the mix, but I know that when I do that, it will still be done in a way that minimises the suck whilst still getting results. My partner also trains with Ben, and although we both compete in the same sport and have similar goals, we've been impressed at how tailored and individual our session plans are. It would've been easy for Ben to simply share the same plan for us, but he didn't. We both have very specific, tailored training plans that address our specific needs and requirements. I've previously worked out in gyms that have made me feel really unwelcome because, let's be honest, I'm a fat bloke who looks like the furthest thing you could imagine from a regular gym goer. That's definitely not the case here. Ben, all of the other trainers at Anatomy 37, and the wider membership base have always made me feel welcome and a valued part of the gym. I'm never going to enjoy cardio and picking heavy objects up will always be more fun, but no matter what I'm doing, Ben is an incredible trainer, and I trust him to help me with every step on this process.
