Poor experience, had trouser waist altered. The back was damaged and had an hole in it. I went back to explain to him that it was damage, but was met by a rude attitude. He tried to justify that its normal it to be like that however I went to another local tailor who agreed with me that it shouldn't be damaged. Wouldn't recommend going here for anything. Absolutely horrific. Brought my suit in to be dry cleaned. Everything was in perfect condition when I brought it in as its only used on special occasions. When I came to pick it up the day after when they said it would be ready for, they handed it to me with my tie ruined. This is a 30 tie. They tried telling me it was me who ruined it by rubbing it on something or because of the age or dipping it in a chemical or not storing it in acid free paper or because it was already starting to go, at one point there was apparently a mysterious black goo on it so it had to be washed twice which was never spoken of again etc. the list of excuses was unbelievable. The total bill would have been 23.50 and at this point they still wanted that. I explained my dissatisfaction with the service and I dont see how they can charge me money for ruining my clothes. After a back and forth as to whose fault it is, they said Id have to come back the next day and speak to the boss, which I accepted. The next day I returned as agreed, the boss was called over, I greeted him with a warm hello, he greeted me with so youre the tie boy or words the that effect. He proceeded to reel off excuses as to why my tie had been ruined, he accepted they had done it but only because, though not visible, the tie was already weak. Now these things happen, I get it. But Im not paying for ruined items. He agreed to knock off the odd 3.50 and only charge me 20. Given that Im down 30 from the tie they ruined, I think its unreasonable to then add insult to injury and charge me a further 20. I explained this to him and he started shouting at me and insulting me saying Im a young boy who doesnt know what hes talking about. (Im 28). The whole time I spoke to him calmly only raising my tone to try and compete with him shouting over me. He told me Im not getting my clothes back until I give him the 20 I owe him and there was a long back and forth on this. He owed me 30 for the tie, I owed him 20 for the service. As a compromise I suggested I take the clothes and Ill leave the the extra 10 and we call it a day. He refused and continued to shout and puzzlingly, showed me other items of clothing belonging to other people they had damaged and explained why that wasnt their fault? Im unsure as to why he thought that would help his case? Eventually he gave in, pulled my clothes off the rack and slung it across the counter saying Im never to come into his shop again.
